1. Polar bears are the largest land predator on Earth. Adult males can weigh up to 1,500 pounds (about 10 men) and stand 10 feet tall when standing on their hind legs.

2. A polar bear's stomach can hold up to 15% of its body weight – that's about 150 kg (330 lb) of meat!

3. A polar bear's fur is not actually white—it's transparent, each hair is clear with a hollow core that reflects light, making them look white.

4. Urine and scent from polar bears' feet help them mark their territory and find mates.

5. Despite popular belief, polar bears are not perfectly camouflaged in their snowy environment – their dark skin showing through their fur can make them easier for prey to spot.

6. Polar bears are excellent swimmers and have been known to swim 100 km (62 mi) or more at a time.
